Overview
NiSi 100x100mm Nano IR ND1000 Neutral Density Filter

My favourite use of a ND1000 / 10 stop / Big Stopper filter is on waterfalls and waterways like creeks. The milky effect is wonderful. Note that a ND1000 is also black so I find it best to set up your shot and then slide in the filter.

Each NiSi 100x100mm Nano IR NDs made to reduce the light equally across the entire surface of the filter. This slows down your shutter speed and allows you to introduce a milky look to your shots or shoot say on a beach in bright sunlight at slower shutter speeds even when shooting at f/2.8 or faster. Having said that, it is likely that you would use a ND1000 or 10 stop on a beach as it is 99% black to your eye.

The ND1000 filter will slow your shutter speed to 1/1000 of the shutter speed before the filter which is also known as 10 stops of light reduction.

Another important part of the NiSi success is that they do not cause any vignetting. On top of that they are very high definition given the Nano coatings on both sides and they are also water and oil repellent.

NiSi ND filters do not affect the colouration of the image, offer a true to life colour and are made from high-quality optical glass (not resin) with nano coating to prevent losing any single bit of detail.  By using neutral density filter the camera is vulnerable to infrared light which will cast the unwanted red colour to the photos when shooting at a small aperture. NiSi ND filters have an infrared protection coating layer to eliminate the infrared light through the lens to bring back the natural true to life colour.

The NiSi 100mm filter system is great for cameras with lenses that have a standard filter thread from 49 mm to 95mm.

This 100mmx100mm filter is compatible with the NiSi 100mm filter system.
