The Sigma 17-70mm f/2.8-4 DC MACRO OS HSM is a lens is Sigma's new Contemporary series which is made using Thermally Stable Composite materials to reduce the weight and size, by about 30% compared to Sigma's other 17-70mm, and it doesn't reduce and quality or durability.

It is the first lens in Sigma's contemporary line, which means it is lightweight, plus compact, and still providing high image quality. The included is OS (Optical Stabiliser) technology allows sharp, hand-held shots to be acheived up to 4 stops slower that otherwise would be possible. Combines with a minimum focussing distance of 22cm and a maximum magnification of 1:2.7 this lens also makes for excellent close up photography.
