Wide Angle Zoom Lenses

Wide Angle lenses are typically 24mm and wider on a full frame camera. So a 14mm lens is wider than a 24mm and is therefore a wider wide angle lens. The smaller the number, the wider is the lens.

Wide Angle Zoom Lenses are wide angle lenses that allow you to zoom from say 14mm to 24mm such as in the Nikon 14-24mm. There are also Wide Angle Prime lenses and they, are a fixed focal length lens that is also wide angled such as Canon's 14mm f2.8 Lens. There is another sub-category in our Camera Lenses category specifically for Wide Angle Prime Lenses.

All the major camera lens manufacturers make Wide Angle Lenses in both Wide Angle Zoom (as is in this sub-category) and Wide Angle Prime Lenses are in the sub-category mentioned above.

So it follows that there are Canon Wide Angle Lenses, Nikon Wide Angle Lenses, Fujilfilm Wide Angle Lenses, Sony Wide Angle Lenses, Pentax Wide Angle Lenses, Olympus Wide Angle lenses and so on. it is also worth noting and often considerably cheaper but not necessarily cheaper in quality, that the likes of Sigma, Tamron, Tokina and Samyang all make wide angle lenses for the major camera manufacturers including Canon Nikon Pentax and Sony.

The range of Wide Angle Lenses is vast and sometimes confusing which is where we at Cameras Direct come in. Just call us for a chat.
