I have to say that I would still buy the Canon 24-70mm f/2.8 II as I am a spoiled rotten Canon L series user. The price difference to me is not enough to have me buying a Sigma. Whenever the price of this lens is closer to half of the price of the Canon 24-70mm, then you might see me changing my mind.
