They can be paired with the belt from the backpack to wear as a hip pack, or they can be mounted to the harness of your pack (with optional Accessory Straps). They are the most adaptable bags in the Shimoda range. All Top Loaders have an expandable base so you can carry up-to a 70-200mm/100-400mm sized professional lens.
