Canon 17-40mm f/4L USM Lens
The Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L USM Lens is an affordable L series wide angle lens, not quiet the sweet spot of the Canon 16-35mm lens but a great priced option.
It offers the choice of using a normal screw-in 77mm filter or a holder in the rear of the lens for up to three gel filters. On your cropped sensor camera its going to give you an equivalent focal length of 27mm to 64mm.
The range of Canon Ultra Wide lenses does include the 17-40mm. The video shows a comparison within the range. Please note that the 11-24mm was announced by Canon long after this short youtube video was made.
This Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L USM Lens comes with a full 2 year Australian Warranty. Pop into our Gold Coast camera store & warehouse or order online. #CamerasDirect, happily helping you take a better #photo and being at your service. Thank you.

- Pros- Build quality, sharpness, generally excellent image quality, relatively light weight Cons-none yet in my experience Review by Alex All my reviews (1)
I bought this lens for my crop sensor 50D, as i wanted a 'semi-wide' angle lens for landscapes and general photography. The build quality is typical L-series (i.e. fantastic) and the lens balances well on the 50D's body. For an L lens, it certainly isn't heavy, making this an excellent 'walk around lens', but that doesnt mean that the optical quality is left wanting. To put simply, its brilliant, delivering sharp images throughout the zoom range, with relatively low chromatic aberrations, and on a crop sensor body, almost no noticeable vignetting. Add to this the ability to use this lens on a full frame camera (a 5d for example, giving a true 'ultra-wide angle') and its competitive price, and you have a fantastic, multi-use lens, that will last for years to come.
