The article in this link was written by Daniel Dickman, one of our amazing videographer / photographer customers. At just 19 years of age, Daniel has a bright future. Thanks Daniel. What I Love & Hate about Canon’s 6d Mark II

31st August 2018. Side-note. I am absolutely thrilled to see the price of this awesome full frame body, the Canon 6d Mark II start to fall to what I believe is a much more realistic price. At under $1950, this is truly good value for money. We will continue to monitor pricing and bring any further price drops (dependent upon the A$ really) to our customers. At the end of the day, today's price of $1888 is surely acceptable to the Canon full frame buyer.

Let's start with the Canon EOS 6d Mark II Camera Assist video.

Canon .... what's with no 4k video? Ok so I got that off my chest .. So Canon has finally got around to making stock of the Canon EOS 6D Mark II Body available late July 2017. Ok so the Dual Pixel AF for video especially, is going to be a big step ahead. So no 4k? Why? Well would you buy the Canon 5d Mark IV for 4k video if you could buy the Canon 6d Mark II for $2000 ish less? No.

Ok so I have had a good whinge. On the positive side. 26mp up from 20mp and 45 af points up from a cheap and nasty 11 and all of the 45 AF points are now Cross type. Canon claims better battery life of 1200 photos with a faster 6.5 FPS up from 4.5 which should be a winning point for portrait shooters that like to do a little sport from time to time.

Here is some very helpful hints and tips from Canon Camera Assist.

Canon has now (September 2017) formally discontinued the Canon 5d Mark III leaving the Canon full frame buyer the option of the Canon 5d Mark IV or this Canon 6d upgrade the Canon 6d Mark II. Let the games begin.

The advanced 45 point all cross-type auto focus system with wide coverage helps you pin point the exact part of the frame you wish to focus on

EOS 6D Mark II is the first Full Frame DSLR to ever feature a vari-angle LCD screen with Touch AF so you can find new angles and shoot astro with ease

Freedom to shoot all day and night with approx 1200 shot battery life when shooting via the optical viewfinder (Based on CIPA testing standards)

Dual Pixel CMOS AF and a DIG!C 7 processer deliver Canon’s fastest & most advanced focus and subject tracking system for live view and movie shooting

Create impressive 4K time-lapse movies in camera - the EOS 6D Mark II can also track auto exposure for each image taken during the time-lapse sequence. Create beautiful Full HD 60p movies and control focus with Touch AF for smooth focus transitions thanks to Dual Pixel CMOS AF

Bluetooth maintains a connection with your phone after initial pairing and switches smartly to Wi-Fi for image download via the Canon Camera Connect app

  • Question From Kevin at 16/02/2019 11:09 pm
    • The specifications on your site for the Canon 6D Mk 2 say there is no GPS feature. Is this an error on your part, or do the grey imports have no GPS? (which seems unlikely).
    • Kevin thanks for your question. The camera in the very early stages did not include GPS but this was quickly changed. The Canon 6d mark ii does now come with GPS.
